If we really want it hard enough we'll make time. Easier said than done but I can't stress that enough. I'm not perfect at this but I wanted to share some of the actions I've taken to test some new experiences without having to take any time off work. This becomes more difficult with kids but if we really want it, we have to make ourselves time whether it's in the morning, evening or weekends.

I will keep a tally of my activities here:

1. Coaching

Not only was I able to take Jennifer Grace's life changing coaching class on week day nights but I was also able to to train to coach it AND train a pilot group all without it impacting my current day job. This was a great way for me to learn what it felt like to prepare and train others.

2. Public Speaking

Some of the business ideas I've had require public speaking. I have to present a lot to teams and groups at work but have never really taken it seriously in producing a real motivational speech that engages and grips the audience. Jennifer had mentioned toastmasters to me. I had heard of it a long time back but never been to one. I found my local club online and have now made 5 speeches and met a lot of interesting people. It has been amazing to learn not only how I come across to others when I speak but what it feels like to get up in front of a room and make your point to a large group of people, often strangers. Toasmasters has a communication program you can progress in and also leadership. I recommend this to anyone.

3. DJing

I once thought I wanted to be a DJ. It started off as a joke but I got more serious about it. I decided to take a couple of lessons and DJ for my 30th birthday at a club in central London. My friend then asked my to DJ at hers on a boat down the Thames. Not only was this way out of my comfort zone, I thoroughly enjoyed it and also learnt what it's like when you have an audience with different music tastes who give you feedback they don't like yours! Good learning on how DJs have to deal with this.

I will update this list as I go.
